چکیده

genetic diversity is necessary for breeding program and increasing genetic gain of selection in crop plants. with the onset of spring growth, spring cold stress is a problem for wheat crops at heading and also may be damaged some other parts of this plant. the aim of this study is the investigation of genetic diversity duo to artificial cold stress on the physiological traits, chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, total chlorophyll, carotenoid and cytoplasmic membrane stability at the reproductive stage. for this purpose an experiment with 20 cultivars of bread wheat and four levels of cold stress, (8 (control), +2, 0 and -2 celsius) was performed in factorial arrangement in a completely randomized design. results of variance analysis showed the effects of interaction between cultivars and cold stress levels is significant at the 5% level which showed the existence of genetic diversity between studied cultivars.. there were significant correlations between chlorophyll a, b, total and carotenoid. in order to determination of genetic relation between cultivars, cluster analysis using was performed ward method and cultivars were divided into 5 groups at -2 °c and 4 groups at +8 °c. discriminate function and principal component analysis confirmed the results of cluster analysis. the third group of -2 °c including of ghods, tajan and pishtaz had the lower level of ion leakage and higher level of plant pigments.

Genetic Variation of Seed Related Traits in Festuca arundinacea Using Multivariate Statistical Methods

Genetic diversity is the basis of breeding studies in many plant species and is one of the most important indicators for selecting parents. The aim of this experiment was to investigate the genetic diversity of tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea) using agronomic traits such as plant height, spring growth score, days to flowering, days to pollination, flag leaf length and width, panicle length, we...

Genetic analysis of agronomic and physiological traits of bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) using generation mean analysis under drought stress conditions and spring planting in the cold climate

Study of heritability and gene action to improve agronomic and physiological traits, especially under drought stress conditions, are very important. The objectives of this study were to investigate heritability for important agronomic traits and some physiological characters in a cross between two spring wheat cultivars. The experiment was carried out using different generations (BC1, BC2, F3, ...

Genetic diversity in spring wheat cultivars and relationships between traits under terminal drought stress

For evaluation of the traits related to water deficit stress in 20 spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivars and subsequently  determination of the most tolerant and sensitive cultivars, an experiment was carried out in split plot based on randomized complete block design (RCBD) in the research farm of the University of Tabriz, Iran during 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 crop seasons. The first fac...

Assessment of Genetic Diversity of Bread Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) Cultivars using Microsatellite Markers

Determining the level of genetic diversity and relationships among genotypes is foundation for identifying the appropriate parents in different breeding objects. In present study, the genetic diversity of 22 wheat cultivars were tested using 22 pairs of SSR primers. Out of 24 detected alleles, 11 were able to show desirable polymorphism. In average 2.18 alleles per locus were generated, in whic...

Genetic Analysis of Response to Water Deficit Stress Based on Physiological Traits in Wheat

Dehydration is the most important limiting factor in agricultural production in arid and semi-arid regions, and water shortages (especially at the reproductive stages) due to lack of precipitation and unequal distribution are inappropriate for limiting the yield. In this research, cross between the Gasspard cultivar (dehydrated susceptible parent) and DN11 line (resistant parent) was performed....
